Case Study

Securing Remote Renewable Assets at Speed.

Wind turbine surveillance with a VPS van at a wind farm

The client

Our client is a leading international renewable energy operator responsible for the management and development of wind farms across the UK and beyond. Committed to sustainable infrastructure, they required a security solution that could be rapidly deployed to protect high-value assets on a live, rural wind farm site in Scotland.

The problem

The site in question was a working wind farm that also functioned as an active agricultural property. Each turbine was positioned across open, unfenced land with no formal boundaries, making it vulnerable to trespass, theft, and damage. Given the rural setting and dispersed layout, traditional static guarding or hardwired systems were not viable.

The Solution

Upon receiving the enquiry, our team responded immediately. Within hours, we had identified the threat and recommended our rapid deployment security pods — the ideal solution for off-grid and remote environments.

By the next morning, one of our experienced team members travelled to the site, conducted a full survey, and provided the client with a detailed, site-specific quote by midday. This allowed the client to make a fast, informed decision — and we were ready to deploy.

The Impact

  • Site surveyed within 24 hours
  • Risk assessed and security plan tailored to the environment
  • Rapid deployment of security pods across multiple turbine locations
  • Minimal disruption to ongoing farming operations

The result

Our proactive, responsive approach gave the client full visibility and control over the site’s security, almost immediately. With pods strategically placed at each turbine, they now have a robust, 24/7 monitored presence on site, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorised access or criminal activity.

  • Understand complex site requirements quickly
  • Recommend the right security solution for the environment
  • Deliver and deploy with urgency

When securing vacant or vulnerable assets, especially in rural or logistically challenging areas, we move fast, and we get it right.
