Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Inspector
BUSINESS UNIT/DEPARTMENT: Operations
LOCATION: Midlands
REPORTS TO: Field Operations Manager (Inspections)
RESPONSIBLE FOR: N/A
ROLE PURPOSE:
• Primary responsibility is to conduct Inspections on vacant and tenanted properties, and to report on all issues found on site; these must be backed up with photographic evidence including meter readings on every occasion.
• Complete inspections using smart phone application, ensuring that all inspections are completed to the highest standards, on time and to specification.
• The Inspector will ensure that critical issues are identified and reported in a timely and professional manner.
• Wear company uniform and PPE and carry the correct tools and equipment, including but not limited to torches, PPE, drill, stock. Wear the SIA badge at all times.
• Ensure SIA compliance, applying for renewals in good time to ensure SIA compliance.
• Maintain the appearance, image and safe operation of the van provided by VPS.
• To report any issues at properties, both external and internal to the appropriate teams so that appropriate remedial action can be taken.
• To liaise accordingly with others both within and outside the business as required.
• To communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with relevant teams, to ensure that information relating to the property is passed on and recorded.
• To ensure that the service provided is of a 1st Class Standard and meets with the Company’s quality standards at all times.
• To liaise effectively with customers, ensuring that they are kept informed of any developments or changes with their property.
• To ensure that the service provided is in a timely manner and carried out in line with agreed deadlines.
• To manage the stock required to carry out any remedial actions
• To ensure that you comply with the Company’s lone worker guidance at all times when working alone.
• To be able to work as part of a team, covering for absence and contributing constructively within team meetings.
• To be able to work flexibly as required ensuring that the job is completed to the highest standard.
• To liaise with clients, ensure that their requirements for regular checks are carried out.
• To use your own initiative to control and manage own workload/schedules
